Soo Goong Gah
|
|
This audio tape recording was the first series of Pansori record that was published by Dae Do Record company. This is the
beginning of the time when Pansori singers were having their records produced. Moon Oak Joo recorded this audio tape with her
Pansori teacher Pansori Master Park Cho Woul and other promiment Pansori singers at the time. This particular audio tape is
the recording of Soo Goong Gah.
It could be said that the modern technology has helped to preserve an artform that never have been recorded in any forms.
Especially at least, people can encounter audio format of the art without going to the street theatre or performance hall.
Traditionally Pansori performance can only be heard at the street theater because this performance art was the entertainment
for the common people.
